ACHIEVEMENTS HIGHLIGHTS

Going forward through the years 2023, 2024, 2025, and 1st quarter of year 2026, the execution of the Action Plans delivered the underlisted Projects/Programmes/Activities into our school system:

  • Payment of State Counterpart Funds to UBEC for years 2019–2025 enabling access to school improvement interventions due to Osun State from UBEC Abuja.
  • Construction and refurbishing of 755 classrooms in 254 basic schools.
  • Supply of over 24,700 sets of furniture items distributed to basic schools for learners and teachers.
  • Provision of ICT materials and solar systems to 27 basic schools across the state’s geo-political zones to improve digital literacy.
  • Supply of 1,432 tablets for teachers and learners’ attendance monitoring in primary schools.
  • Support for development of sports & games in basic schools – BESS competition held 3 times consecutively in the last 3 years.
  • Development of agriculture farms in schools through AETP programmes and greener school environments.
  • Provision of water boreholes with reticulation & alternative power supply (generators) in 47 schools benefiting host communities.
  • Construction of toilets in 24 basic schools.
  • School fencing: erection of perimeter fences with metal gates in 43 schools covering 11,844 meters.
  • Support for annual school census using “Osun–EMIS applications.”
  • Continuous education quality assurance operations carried out termly to ensure standardized practices.
  • Staff trainings: over 6,500 school heads & teachers trained across all fields in basic schools, plus in-service training for other staff.
  • Teachers’ welfare: remuneration, promotions, and implementation of Osun State minimum wage effective December 2024.
  • Preferential treatment for special schools in provision of learning aids, feeding, and remuneration for persons with special needs.
  • Annual distribution of TLMs to basic schools (exercise books, notebooks, pencils, rulers, diaries, chalks/markers, attendance registers, etc.).
  • Procurement of 8 vehicles for Continuous Quality Assurance (CQA) assessment and project monitoring.
  • Procurement of 12 motorbikes for school CQA monitoring officers at LGEAs.
  • Operationalization of the newly introduced Basic Education Curriculum 2025 in compliance with FME directive.
  • Operationalization of UBEC Model Smart School Osogbo and Alternative High School for Girls, Osogbo, aimed at addressing out-of-school and dropout children.
  • Recruitment and deployment of over 600 new teachers in March 2026 to address staffing gaps in basic education.
