Drivers of Growth: Harmonization of taxes, automation (78%), voluntary compliance, blocking leakages (no cash collection, verifiable receipts), and citizen-friendly approaches.
Osun ranked 15th out of 36 States with ₦54.77 billion, ahead of several peers while trailing Lagos, Rivers, FCT, Ogun, and Enugu.
In Q3 2025, Osun achieved a 100% score in BudgIT Fiscal Transparency League Table, joining only 10 other states. Domestic debt reduced from ₦148.37 billion (Dec 2022) to ₦83.32 billion (Q1 2025), a 43.84% reduction.
OIRS emphasized human capital development through training in tax administration, data analysis, customer relations, cryptocurrency taxation, and digital competencies. Staff attended workshops by JRB, CITN, ICAN, ANAN, and others. Welfare initiatives included salary increments for dispatch riders, boosting morale and loyalty.
OIRS built public confidence through outreach, forums, retreats, and weekly radio/TV programs. Governor Adeleke emphasized fairness, voluntary compliance, and linking revenue growth to development projects.
The stewardship of OIRS under Governor Adeleke and Acting Chairman Alhaji Solanke-Hamzat marks a new chapter of efficiency, transparency, and sustainable growth. Looking ahead, OIRS is committed to deepening tax reforms, advancing full digitization, and enhancing service delivery to support Osun State’s fiscal independence and public welfare.
