Achievements in Healthcare Initiatives

  • Rehabilitation, Renovation, and Upgrading of 200 focal Primary Healthcare Centres across the State.
  • Sinking of 332 motorised boreholes with stanchion and overhead tanks in all the wards across the State.
  • Construction of Oxygen plants in State Specialist Hospital, Asubiaro and State Hospital Iwo.
  • Conduct of over 20,000 free surgical operations and 50,000 medical consultations for the citizens of the State through Imole free Surgical and Medical Outreaches across the state.
  • Establishment of special baby care unit for preterm and low birth-weight babies at the State Specialist Hospital Asubiaro with support from kangaroo mother care initiatives.
  • Medical Mission to the State of Osun by Nigeria Custom Medical Corps and other NGOs.
  • Establishment of Drug Management Agency in Osun State.
  • Release of a sum One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (₦150,000,000.00) as take-off fund for the Drug Management Agency in Osun State.
  • Upgrading of the State Schools of Nursing and Midwifery, Asubiaro, to the College of Nursing Asubiaro, Osogbo. The immediate implication of this positive development is that the yearly intake of students into the two institutions has increased from seventy-five (75) to two hundred (200) students.
